Tour Descriptions

Group Tours

Cristy and Ray Pfeiffer have personally researched, planned and designed our tours. In addition they personally direct and guide all our tours.

They function not as "Tour Escorts" but as the actual Tour Directors who relate the history, culture and in particular, the American role in the areas we visit with on-site presentations, short walking tours or from the Tour Director's seat in our motor coach. They greet tour members upon their arrival in Europe and direct the tour throughout. Cristy and Ray have personally guided over 8,000 Americans on our tours. In recent years most of our group tours have been arranged for private organizations such as The College of the Ozarks, The 35th Infantry Division and The Naval Order of the US. If you represent an organization which would like to arrange a tour, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Private, Prestigious Tours

Ray is available for Prestige Private Tours of Normandy, Paris, the Battle of the Bulge, Operation Market Garden and Germany at any time by private request. At certain periods he will also be available for tours of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Our esteemed Private Tours are designed to accommodate every aspect of a historic tour that is sought by the individual tour group and every member of the group. Ray and his staff will discuss in advance what is important to the tour members, will do all the research needed down to the smallest details. They will make any out-of-the-ordinary arrangements needed to ensure that everyone in the group will have a most meaningful experience. Our Prestigious Tours are acclaimed, authoritative, highly regarded, and specifically designed for each group.

Ray is the most sought-after American WWII guide in Europe. His contacts in Normandy and many places in Europe enable him to offer unique services to his clients. In addition, his skills as a driver with 30 years experience in Europe take the worry out of traveling privately in the region for many Americans. Ray owns a mini-van in which he can take up to three people on a private tour. He also rents vehicles for up to six people or can arrange for a small bus with driver for small, private groups.

Historic Tours also offers private, personalized tours of the D-Day beaches and the Battle of Normandy guided by Ray or one of our guides. They are “America’s most experienced WWII tour guides”. We do not just provide a driving service as other companies do; instead we make history “come alive” with our knowledge of the war and Normandy.
